The latest published monthly data available as of October 17, 2026, show that Iranian gas deliveries to Turkey continued at a high level after the long-term supply agreement expired in late July, with deliveries reaching approximately 916 million cubic meters in August 2026. Iran ranked as Turkey’s largest natural gas supplier that month, followed by Azerbaijan and Russia.

Based on these monthly figures, Turkey imported approximately 6.37 bcm of Iranian gas from January through August 2026. Full-year imports in 2025 totaled around 7.7 billion cubic meters, accounting for approximately 13.2% of Turkey’s total gas imports.

Despite the continued flows, the two countries’ long-term supply arrangements remain uncertain, with no new long-term contract publicly confirmed in the reports reviewed. Sanctions-related payment challenges and Turkey’s efforts to diversify supplies through Russia, Azerbaijan and LNG imports could influence future trade.

Iran remains a significant supplier to Turkey, but the sustainability of deliveries will depend on future contractual arrangements, payment mechanisms and Iran’s ability to maintain export supplies.
