In a report recently published by Iran’s Central Oil Fields Company (ICOF), the company exceeded its production targets in several operational regions during the first half of 1405 (March–September 2026).
-
- In southern Zagros, gas production totaled approximately 24.945 billion cubic meters (198 mcm/d), alongside 6.7 million barrels of gas condensates (53,000 bpd) and about 1.4 million barrels of oil (over 11,000 bpd). Projects to boost pressure at the Tabnak, Kangan and Homa gas fields, as well as plans to drill and repair around 20 wells over five years, are intended to help sustain production.
-
- In eastern Iran, new production capacity was added through well development at the Khangiran and Tous gas fields. Well No. 97 at the Khanگیران field entered production with a capacity of 1.3 million cubic meters per day, while drilling of well No. 4 at the Tous field was completed, with production expected to begin after surface facilities are installed. More than 1.77 billion cubic meters of gas had also been injected into the Shourijeh D storage facility by the end of the first half, reaching 107% of the planned target.
-
- In western Iran, efforts are focused on maintaining oil and gas production and expanding associated-gas collection infrastructure. A 48-kilometer, 12-inch pipeline from the Danan field is planned to transport 15 million cubic feet of associated gas to the Dehloran booster station, completing the supply chain for the NGL 3100 plant. Equipment maintenance, infrastructure upgrades and safety measures are also being implemented to improve operational reliability.
Overall, the company’s performance highlights the importance of well maintenance, new drilling, gas storage, pressure-boosting facilities and pipeline infrastructure in sustaining production. Maintaining these gains, particularly during the winter peak-demand period, will depend on reliable equipment, stable field output and the timely completion of development projects.
