President Masoud Pezeshkian appointed Hamid Bovard as caretaker oil minister following Mohsen Paknejad’s resignation. The appointment was made under Article 135 of Iran’s Constitution, with Pezeshkian citing Bovard’s executive experience and qualifications.
Pezeshkian instructed Bovard to follow the Constitution, the national Vision Document, the Leader’s general policies and the Seventh Development Plan, while cooperating with the Cabinet and pursuing the government’s objectives.
