Iran’s Offshore Oil Company CEO Ahmadreza Rasti announced the plan to add three drilling rigs to its fleet to increase drilling capacity and accelerate development and production-maintenance projects.
According to the PR Office of IOOC, he added: “Two 300-foot jack-up rigs have been contracted on four-year leases following a tender, while the selection of a contractor for the third onshore rig is underway. The additional rigs are expected to enable simultaneous drilling operations across several fields and, in particular, accelerate drilling and development of Qeshm gas fields, where activities have resumed after years.”
IOOC had issued a tender to charter three 350 feet offshore drilling rigs with a 70ft cantilever for its offshore wells in the Persian Gulf, in May 2026.
