Hamid Bovard, CEO of the National Iranian Oil Company (NIOC) and a member of Iran’s delegation in the four-party peace talks in Switzerland, announced that the blockade had been lifted and Iran had resumed oil exports through the Persian Gulf.
According to IRNA, he said that, in the first phase, Iranian tankers had crossed the previously restricted demarcation line and were heading toward their designated destinations.
Bovard added that in recent days, nearly half of the country's monthly oil exports had already been shipped abroad. He noted that exports would continue in full once the memorandum of understanding is fully implemented.
He further stated that investment opportunities and the lifting of oil sanctions were key issues pursued during the negotiations. Iran has also proposed amendments in this regard to the U.S. side, which it hopes can be implemented.
