Iran’s Supreme Audit Court announced that the average daily flaring of associated gas in the first six months of the Iranian year 1404 (March 2025-September 2025) reached approximately 56.2 million cubic meters per day, with an annual economic value exceeding $6 billion.
According to Mehr News Agency, given the upward trend in gas flaring and the significant gap between the current situation and the quantitative targets set out in the Seventh Development Plan Law, the Supreme Audit Court emphasized the need to accelerate the adoption of necessary executive measures by the government to fulfill the obligation of collecting 43.8 million cubic meters of flare gas per day by the end of the Seventh Plan, in order to safeguard public assets and prevent the loss of intergenerational resources.
