Adnoc Sour Gas, a joint venture between the Abu Dhabi National Oil Company and Occidental of the US, has set the tender ball rolling on the expansion of the Shah Gas plant in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, Upstreamonline reported.
The expansion of the Shah Gas terminal is one of several key gas developments in Abu Dhabi to deliver additional total production of more than 3 Bcfd of gas by end of the decade.
The Shah Sour Gas Field is located around 180km south-west of Abu Dhabi, UAE. It was jointly developed by Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC) and Occidental Petroleum. The project came on stream in April 2016.
The Shah Field holds approximately 480 billion cubic meters (BCM) of gas with around 23% hydrogen sulphide (H2S), making it one of the most sour gas fields in the world. The production capacity of the field is over 1.4 bcf/d.
