The Iraqi Ministry of Oil revealed on Saturday that it is planning to increase oil production to six million barrels per day (bpd) by 2028.
According to Iraqi News Agency (INA), the Deputy Minister for Extraction Affairs, Basim Khudair, stated that the ministry has an ambitious plan to boost oil production in order to secure sufficient quantities for export.
He added: “The ministry also seeks to achieve self-sufficiency in the produced gas needed for industrial purposes and electricity generation.”
