The contract of the project to carry out basic and FEED engineering of the sub-sea pipeline to transfer Iranian gas to Oman will take effective within the next two weeks, said an informed source.

Iranian Offshore Engineering and Construction Company (IOEC) has been selected to carry out the above-said project. Seemingly the relevant construction and installation stages of the project are likely to be also taken up by the same company and carried out subsequently.

The scope of work of the project is basic engineering for a gas booster station at Kuh Mobarak, a metering station, sub-sea route survey and 200 km sub-sea gas pipeline from Kuh Mobarak to Oman Sohar port.

IOEC is currently in final talks with Iranian Tehran Raymand Consulting Engineers (TR) to assign the related basic engineering and conceptual design of gas pressure booster as well as metering stations to that company.

Based on the agreement reached between the two countries in 2013, a contract was signed for the export of a volume of 20 mcm/d of gas via a subsea pipeline to Oman for a period of 25 years’ time.
