Latest on Iran GTX projects at PSEZ

Ali Asghar Allameh, Head of Parsian Energy Intensive Industrial Special Economic Zone (PSEZ) talked about the latest status of petrochemical units, planned to be built on this region and stated: “Now, out of the 4 licenses that have been issued, all 4 projects have started working, Soroush Energy (GTX) is ahead of all and its executive operations have already started and their contractors are in site. MAPNA Group has just hired a contractor to equip its workshop, and we are supplying electricity to their workshop site as well as Lorch (GTX) workshop. Petro Farhang is also preparing for its work,” reported the Tahlilbazar.com.

The National Petrochemical Co. (NPC) has so far approved implementation of four petrochemical projects in the gas to light olefins (GTX) chain in this region, these projects are:

- GTX of MAPNA Group: The relevant MoU was signed in September 2018 and the executive works started in February 2021.

- GTX of Soroush Energy Paydar Investment Development Co. (SEPID): The relevant contract was signed in 2019 with the completion date of 2024. The executive works started in February 2021. 

- GTX of Mahtab Parsian Co.: The relevant contract was signed in 2016. The construction period shall be 4 years. 

- GTX of Lorch Petrochemical Co.: The relevant contract was signed in December 2020. The construction period shall be 4 years. 

The projects’ yields are supposed to be Methanol, Propylene, Ethylene, Poly Propylene, Poly Ethylene, Ethoxylates, Polyol, Propylene Glycol, C4 Cut, Pyrolysis Gasoline and LPG. The required gas feed will be supplied through IGAT VII.
