A memorandum of understanding (MoU) for the study, development, and operation of Iranian Halegan and Shahini gas fields has been signed between the National Iranian Oil Company (NIOC) and a consortium comprising IMIDRO, steel companies, and MAPNA.
According to NIOC, these fields, located in the south of Fars province, hold a total of about 18 trillion cubic feet of gas in place. With the signing of this MoU and the development of the Halgan and Shahini gas fields, it is expected that about 35 million cubic meters of gas per day and 25,000 barrels of condensates will be produced.
Attracting the required investment for the development of these two fields, providing feedstock for steel and mining industries, and helping to reduce the country’s gas imbalance are among the other objectives of this MoU.
