The EU foreign policy chief Josep Borrell is in Tehran to discuss nuclear deal. He will meet with Iran’s Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian and some other Iranian officials.

Amir-Abdollahian said on Thursday at a joint news conference with visiting Russian counterpart Sergei Lavrov that Iran remains "serious" about reaching a revived nuclear deal with major powers that ends economic sanctions and to which the United States is again a party. Also on Wednesday, Enrique Mora, the European Union's coordinator for the talks, posted on Twitter a picture of himself together with Borrell and US negotiator Robert Malley in Brussels. "In depth conversation about #JCPOA and regional perspectives in the wider Middle East. Malley reiterated firm US commitment to come back to the deal," he wrote.
