Iran, Iraq oil cooperation working session held in Tehran

Iran-Iraq oil cooperation working group, which was attended by Head of National Iranian Oil Company (NIOC) Mohsen Khojasteh Mehr and Iraq’s Deputy Oil Minister and Director General of the Iraqi Drilling Company Bassim Mohammed Khudair, was held on Wednesday, 22nd June 2022, in Tehran, reported the News Agency of Iran Oil Ministry.

The main points, which were discussed in the meeting were as follow:

- Formation of a comprehensive roadmap to define the goals and perspective of the two countries’ future cooperation,

- Iran-Iraq cooperation in the fields of exploration, development and production of shared fields of the two countries, collection of associated and flared gases of Iraqi oil fields, especially oil fields near the borders of Iran,

- Holding training courses and exporting technical and engineering services to Iraq,

- Rehabilitation of some Iraqi oil wells and provision of drilling services to Iraqi side by Iranian drilling companies.
