The European Union views Iran’s response to a proposed blueprint for reviving the 2015 nuclear deal as constructive, according to an official familiar with the diplomatic efforts, and is consulting with the US on a “way ahead” for the protracted talks, Bloomberg reported.

The positive comments are the first sign that the Iranian position, formally submitted by Tehran to the EU on Monday night, might not further stall the negotiations.

The official, who didn’t want to be named because of the sensitivity of the matter, said Iran’s response still required study and that other parties to the nuclear talks -- which include the US, China and Russia -- are assessing it.

Earlier on Tuesday, Mikhail Ulyanov, Russia's representative in Vienna talks on Iran nuclear deal considered Iran's response to the EU's proposed text reasonable, saying that the ball is now in the US court.

Speaking on a live TV program, Ulyanov reiterated that one of the issues included in the Iranians’ yesterday amendment of the JCPOA draft was that it will be precisely clarified that there will be strong guarantees to ensure the sustainability of the JCPOA after its revival, and apparently moves in that respect need to be made.

According to the Goldman Sachs Group Inc., even if a pact were agreed, additional oil flow wouldn’t return until the start of 2023 at the earliest.
