Iraq in talks with Iran to increase gas imports: Iraqi Official

Ahmad Al-ebadi, the spokesperson of the Iraq’s Ministry of Electricity referred to the 22% increase in electricity production in this country and announced negotiations with Iran to increase gas imports.

He told Iraq News Agency that Iraq currently imports 43 million cubic meters of Iranian gas per day (mcm/d) but the country needs to receive 55-60 mcm/d to supply its electricity.
