Denmark-based technology, catalyst and services supplier Haldor Topsoe (Topsoe) has secured a contract from Badr-e-Shargh Petrochemical Complex to provide licenses, engineering, proprietary equipment, materials and catalyst for a new methanol plant to be located in Chabahar, Iran.
It will be the first plant in a new industrial zone in Chabahar area.
The company has also decided to open permanent offices in Tehran with an expectation to tap the petrochemical and refinery business in Iran.

Topsoe EMEA region and chemical business unit executive vice-president Per Bakkerud said: "I have no doubt in my mind that Iran is on the doorstep to a period of great progress.”

The company's relation with the Iranian companies has also led the former to open its branch in the country.
Topsoe managing director Jens Ole Madsen will lead the company's Tehran branch.
